Practice excellence – Actions speak louder than words

What we say is important but what we do is even more important. What we say, the words & language we use, shapes our thinking. I have heard it said that “words create the world” but there is also a saying that “Actions speak louder than words”.

We can’t achieve practice excellence unless we practice what we preach, or rather practice before we preach.

Those who are performing actions are closest to the reality of their situations. They are the best judge to decide what the right action in a given situation is. The team & the organization of which they are members can / should train and empower them to do so.

Data and measurements are normally used to monitor & control actions being taken be the members of the team or an organization. The same data & measurements can be used more fruitfully to help & guide the members take better decisions and to improve their actions.
